Instructions
Materials you’ll need for the project.
Step 1.
Cut about 90 cm (35.4
inches) of thread and pass it through the needle hole.
Take the perforated disc
and hold it with the convex side facing upward. This will be the front side
of our work.
Bring the needle through
one of the holes of the inner round of holes, back to front.
Take the needle to the back
side through the central hole of the perforated disc.
Turn the disc on the other
side and tie the threads together with two square knots, leaving a tail of 10
cm (4 inches).
Take the needle back to the
front side through the central hole of the perforated disc.
Step 2.
Pick two 11/0 seed beads
and one 15/0 seed bead and slide them down toward the perforated disc.
Skip the 15/0 seed bead and
go back through the two 11/0 seed beads and the hole of the perforated disc
the thread exited from (in this case the central hole), going to the back
side of the disc.
Step 3.
Take the needle back to the
front side through one of the holes of the inner circle of holes of the
perforated disc.
Repeat adding in each hole
of the inner circle seed beads as explained at Step 2.
Step 4.
After having added seed
beads in the inner circle of holes take the needle to the outer circle and
continue adding seed beads as explained at Step 2.
This is how our perforated
disc looks like with all holes covered with heed beads.
Step 5.
In this step we will be
adding more seed beads in the outer circle of holes.
For this, take the needle to
the front side through the next hole in the outer circle.
Add seed beads as explained
at Step 2 in each outer hole. This
time the seed beads will lie horizontally around the perforated disc as shown
in the picture on the left.
This is the completed
starlet.
Step 6.
On the back side, tie the
two thread ends together with a few square knots and cut the excess.
Step 7.
Insert the beaded disc on
top of the ear pad with prongs.
Now we need to fix the
perforated disc on the ear pad by bending the prongs inward.
Use a flat nose pliers to
do this as shown in the picture on the left.
Be careful not to break the seed beads.
Congratulations! The earring is ready!
